Kendall Marshall, a 6′ 3″ Washington DC point guard set to start playing for UNC in the 2010-2011 season, is a unique case in terms of recruiting. In fact, the Kendall Marshall recruitment is the beginning of a changing World. From the outset, Marshall has received a ton of press attention, being called the #1 prep player in his class by DC newspapers as early as the 8th grade. He also wrapped up his college recruitment earlier than most, verballing to UNC immediately following his sophomore year of high school. Marshall subsequently began his interaction with the fanbase early, becoming active in social media channels and publishing a variety of journals in the media so fans could keep tabs on his progression.

Marshall has connected with the Internet fanbase earlier and deeper than any UNC player in history.
